Tap on, Tap off is now available on most buses in Norfolk, making bus travel quicker, easier and better value.
Simply tap a contactless card or mobile device when you get on and off the bus, and fares will be capped so you always pay the best price.
The £3 single fare cap has been extended until March 2027.
A single journey run by participating operators will cost no more than £3 from 1st of January 2025.
Fares below the fare cap are also available. For more details please contact your local bus operator.
There are a wide range of bus tickets available to suit different travel needs. Individual bus operators are responsible for their fares, bespoke tickets and passes for their services and therefore we cannot give detailed information about those, however, we have compiled a list below of the most common tickets and passes you are likely to see across most service providers across Norfolk.
Adult
- Any passenger aged 20 or over.
Single
- A one-time-use ticket!
- This ticket allows you travel on a bus for a single journey, typically from one location to another.
Return
- A round-trip ticket!
- This ticket allows you to travel on a bus for a round-trip journey, typically from one location to another and back again. It is a ticket that covers both the outbound and inbound journeys.

- Save money on a ticket that grants passengers unlimited travel on buses within a specific region or fare zones for a consecutive period of 7 days, 28 days or a month.
- 15% off all weekly, 28 day and monthly tickets until 31st August 2026.
Flexible
- Some bus operators offer an option to buy a discounted bundle of single or day tickets, this option is great if you only travel a few times a week! These tickets vary between different operators, so be sure to check if this option is available from your desired provider and always check the finer details!
Group
- Enjoy fantastic outings with your loved ones without breaking the bank! Take advantage of group day tickets which allow you to use the bus for an unlimited number of journeys throughout the day. The group ticket is ideal for groups or families of 1 adult and up to 4 children, or 2 adults and up to 3 children. It is important to note that the maximum number of people allowed in a group may vary between bus operators, so be sure to check their terms for further details before you travel!

Concessionary passes
- Concessionary travellers are individuals who carry a valid Concessionary Bus Pass granting them unlimited travel during off-peak times. Eligible individuals can enjoy the convenience of unlimited bus travel, enabling them to commute and explore various destinations.
Young persons
- A discounted ticket for under 20s!
- This ticket allows young people between the ages of 5 and 19 to travel on a bus at a discounted rate compared to adult fares.
- Under 5s travel free with most bus operators, however, always remember to check this with your service provider!
- The Travel Norfolk Fusion Day Ticket allows passengers to use all buses run by all 15 operators across Norfolk. It is an ideal solution for both residents and visitors who want to use buses across areas that have services run by different operators.

- The ‘town zone’ area covers key locations such as the Gaywood Estate, Q.E Hospital, Hardwick Retail Park, North and South Wootton.
Park and Ride
- From 30th March 2025, more frequent services will operate 7 days a week offering attractive fares
Thetford capped fare
- Travel for just £1.50 for any single journey that starts and finishes within the Thetford town zone.
- Both operators that serve the town, Coach Services Ltd and Konectbus have signed up to the scheme. The Thetford town zone includes key locations such as Thetford Academy, Tesco, Sainsburys and the RAF camp.
- Travel for just £1.50 for any single journey that starts and finishes within the King’s Lynn town zone.
- All five bus operators who serve the town have signed up to the scheme – Lynx Bus, WNCT Ltd, Stagecoach, First Bus and Coach Services Ltd.

Reduced price bus tickets in Norfolk
Thanks to continued funding from Government to deliver our bus service improvement plan we are able to continue discounting tickets for bus passengers till at least the end of the year.
That means from the 30 March (until 31st August 2026)
- Group day tickets for up to five people, weekly tickets and monthly tickets on all services across Norfolk will be discounted by 15% across all operators
- £1.50 capped fares will continue in King’s Lynn, Thetford and Great Yarmouth
We’re also introducing brand new Travel Norfolk Fusion Town Zone tickets. These offer unlimited travel for the day – across all different operators on one ticket – either individually or as a group.
